Damaged or Sensitive Skin
Some oils can irritate areas of skin abrasion, cuts, rashes etc or can cause an adverse reaction when applied to sensitive skin or when a person is suffering with Eczema, Dermatitis or Psoriasis. Many oils are beneficial for skin of all types (see Moisturising in Aromatherapy Information), but those listed below should not be used:

Diabetes
There is only one Essential Oil to be avoided when treating a person with diabetes:
- Angelica
Epilepsy
There is a potential that some oils could cause a reaction in Epileptic people and should therefore be avoided during Holistic Therapy. These oils are also best avoided when a person is suffering with fever:
- Basil
- Camphor (white)
- Eucalyptus
- Lavender
- Spanish sage
- Sweet fennel
- Rosemary
