What is the lymph System?
Your Lymph System is a vascular system that if found just underneath the skin. It is your waste management system and helps the body remove toxins and by products from chemical reactions.
The lymphatic system is made up of lymph vessels, lymph nodes and lymphatic fluid. Your spleen, thymus, tonsils and adenoids are also part of the lymphatic system. There are over 600 lymph nodes located in a plethora of locations around the body. The lymph nodes job are to filter lymphatic fluid until it reaches the thoracic duct where is it is filtered again; before being reabsorbed by the blood stream. The lymphatic fluid is in fact made up of clear fluid which contains white blood cells.
Maintaining correct posture whist carrying out stretches is vital to improving posture and getting a better stretch for your muscles. Many think you must push back your shoulders and your head should be facing upwards like an old army drill sergeant.
1. The best way to describe holding a good, steady posture is to firstly keep your whole body in line.
2. Slightly ‘tuck’ your coccyx (the lowest part of the spine) underneath you so you are engaging your abdominal muscles slightly as to not create an arch in the lower back.
3. Straighten both clavicles (collar bones) so they form a nice straight line along you body keeping your shoulders in a more neutral position.
4. Tilt your head slightly upwards so you are straight ahead instead of looking towards the ground.
5. Bring your head back so that you ears are in line with your shoulders.
6. Straighten your upper back so back is straight to avoid creating a curve in your upper back.

Reflexology is a therapeutic massage that uses certain points on the feet to treat the body as a whole. It is a non-invasive treatment usually focusing on the feet and lower legs, but can also be performed on the hands. It is a very gentle and relaxing treatment, using light compression to stimulate circulation and encourage healing throughout the body.
Massage can be a great tool for relieving pain caused by headaches and migraines and has been used as a treatment for this for decades. There are various types of headaches and migraines but some are more common than others. They can be very debilitating and frustratingly are not well funded in the UK so research is very limited in this area.
One of the more common type of headache are tension headaches which are caused by tense muscles in the neck and shoulders causing a dull, aching pain being felt in the neck and at the base of the skull and sometimes a pulling sensation at the back of skull can be felt.
Other types of headache include cluster headache. This has been described as the most pain a human can endure, even worse than giving birth or breaking bones. A sharp pain can be felt in one eye and can happen in groups for days or even weeks.
When creating Aromatherapy blends, essential oils are used. This gives blends therapeutic properties as well as a scent. Aroma therapists usually blend oils using a similar method to that used to create perfumes. Normally only three or four essential oils are used in a blend and these will be comprised of at least one each of top, middle and base notes. This can make a blend smell more pleasant or balanced but it also means that the blend will have a synergy since different oils can be combined to create a blend with more therapeutic properties than that of a single essential oil. Blends can be made to help with a variety of symptoms or problems because of this.
Essential oils can be divided into top, middle and base notes although there is still debate over some oils as to which category they belong in.
