I am looking forward to connecting with you

Hi, my name is Alex and I am really excited to be working from the YOU Massage & Therapy Centre. I specialise in Reflexology, also offering Indian Head Massage and Reiki and my aim as a therapist is to tailor your treatments to meet your individual needs to help improve your well-being. I love working with both the physical and the spiritual aspects of a person and I strive to connect and balance the two together. These therapies work well on their own or in combination.

My personal journey started many years ago when certain unexplained, and at times debilitating ailments, led me to look at therapies that could complement medical diagnoses, not just for myself, but also for certain members of my family.

After much researching, I came across reflexology and was amazed that by applying pressure to places on the feet, it could alter some of the imbalances that our bodies were showing. I was so amazed by it that I decided to train as a reflexologist so I could help others and I haven’t looked back since. Reflexology has become one of the most important things my world; I love everything about it and I have studied it at length. I use different techniques either as stand-alone treatments and or in combination. These include…

Nerve reflexology – static pressure is applied to specific points on the feet and any pain experienced indicates the condition of the nerve. By applying pressure we can open up the neural pathways to your organs and bodily structures.

Spinal Reflexology – this involves stimulating the spinal reflexes on the feet. As each reflex is stimulated, we can identify which nerve roots are out of balance.

Classical Reflexology – technique used consists of using the thumbs and fingers to ‘walk’ along the reflexes of the feet.

Precision Reflexology – This does not apply pressure like classical reflexology nor does it involve the ‘walking’ technique; it consists of gentle holding of specific reflex points and linking them either to each other or to another reflex point. It is primarily used to connect to a person’s energy system which enables me to work with the internal energy of the person. I sometimes incorporate the Brazilian Toe Technique with this.

Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage – this award winning reflexology technique focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet with the aim to cause an effect on the lymphatic system in the body.

Fertility Reflexology – this is a very specialised modality and uses specific techniques and protocols to address any fertility issues. It is for both men and women at any stage of their fertility journey including undergoing fertility treatment such as IVF; in this instance I work to enhance the medications and boost the chances of success.

Facial reflexology – focuses on reflex points on the face as opposed to the feet to help stimulate the body’s healing mechanisms and help improve circulation and nerve conduction, encouraging the release of toxins from the body. The face’s close proximity to the brain and cranial nerves especially makes Facial Reflexology very powerful in impacting the body systems.  As an added bonus at the same time it aims to promote the production of new skin tissue and improve skin tone.
