Have you heard of this absolutely beautiful style of massage therapy?
No? Shell-shocked! 🙂
Most cultures have their own unique style of massage but none quite like this divine combination therapy, Lava Shells Massage from the Philippines.
For 100s of years, the Philippino people have harvested tiger clam shells from the beach in order to provide an authentic, soothing, relaxing treatment.
Now, in the UK we may not have large stretches of white sandy beaches surrounding us, like there are in Philippines, but we have adapted this treatment to bring Lava Shell Massage to our world of health and beauty, and now, to YOU Massage, Bedford Place, Southampton by therapist William.
My name is William and I am happy to introduce myself as a new associate massage therapist at the You Massage & Therapy Centre, Southampton. This article is here to welcome you to my world of therapy and how i can help you!
My interest in sport from a young age has led me to train as a Chiropractor and a massage therapist. I have learned a lot of about avoiding injuries and self-treatment methods from playing rugby for years and competing in Powerlifting.
Hello, it gives me great pleasure to meet you and to be working alongside the other wonderful therapists at YOU Massage.
I graduated from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in 2010 and have been in practice since then. During this time I have met and helped 100’s of amazing people. Most of whom generally come to me when they are in some form of pain, have serious illness, or just don’t feel healthy and themselves.
In my experience I have found Acupuncture and Chinese medicine are effective methods for helping people with their health issues. I use two main methods of treatment; Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Elements (Constitutional) Acupuncture. Alongside this, I also employ additional tools such as tuina massage, cupping, moxabustion, guasha (skin scraping) etc. These all support and enhance the treatments. However, most importantly, I work closely with all patients to improve their overall health and wellbeing. Offering lifestyle advice and coaching such as exercise, dietary support, motivation, problem solving or relationships, are often considered an essential part of the treatment and will help you to achieve the best results and in becoming your best self.
My interest in massage and learning of new techniques lead me on to Japan, where I’ve stayed for 6 years. That time I had the chance to study about zen as a philosophy, as a lifestyle, as a massage therapist also I learnt a lot about Reiki healing and Japanese culture and language.
We would like to welcome Ed to the team of YOU Massage and Therapy Centre.
