Maybe your Lymphatic System is blocked or not working efficiently due to Lymphoedema!
Lympho what? I hear you say… Ok back up a little…. to fully understand lymphoedema, it helps to first know a bit about our bodies lymphatic system.
The lymphatic system is part of our body’s immune system, it helps to protect us from infection and disease. Lymph fluid passes through lymph nodes which are connected by a network of lymph vessels. The lymph nodes are found throughout the whole body. This lymph runs alongside the circulatory system, but unlike blood that is pumped by the heart and under pressure throughout the bodies arteries and veins, the lymph system has no pump, and relies on muscles contracting in order for it to move around the body. The lymphatic system acts like a one-way drainage system transporting fluid from our body’s tissues into the bloodstream.

Hello, I thought I would introduce myself so you would know a little more about me and my Therapies and how I became a Therapist.
My name is Jane and I was very fortunate to have been around Healing Energy from a very young age. This background gave me the passion and inspiration to delve into how Healing Energy Therapies work and I have been lucky enough to make this my life time’s work.
The journey has taken me far and wide and to some very unusual places; America with the Native Americans to look at their healing which I learnt and to New Zealand to learn all about the Maori Healing which I studied for a year whilst living there. I was lucky enough to be taught by a true blooded Maori and I was welcomed into the Maori Tribe and given a Waterfall blessing!
Healing is very close to my heart and I have many Accredited Healing Therapies under my belt and I am able to teach many of these. I have learnt that there are many benefits to receiving a Healing Therapy and having a compassionate nature means I will always draw on my experience to deliver the best Healing session I can for my clients. The best reward of all for a Therapist is to see her client contented and happy after a treatment.
Hi, my name is Alex and I am really excited to be working from the YOU Massage & Therapy Centre. I specialise in Reflexology, also offering Indian Head Massage and Reiki and my aim as a therapist is to tailor your treatments to meet your individual needs to help improve your well-being. I love working with both the physical and the spiritual aspects of a person and I strive to connect and balance the two together. These therapies work well on their own or in combination.
My personal journey started many years ago when certain unexplained, and at times debilitating ailments, led me to look at therapies that could complement medical diagnoses, not just for myself, but also for certain members of my family.
After much researching, I came across reflexology and was amazed that by applying pressure to places on the feet, it could alter some of the imbalances that our bodies were showing. I was so amazed by it that I decided to train as a reflexologist so I could help others and I haven’t looked back since. Reflexology has become one of the most important things my world; I love everything about it and I have studied it at length. I use different techniques either as stand-alone treatments and or in combination. These include…
Have you heard of this absolutely beautiful style of massage therapy?
No? Shell-shocked! 🙂
Most cultures have their own unique style of massage but none quite like this divine combination therapy, Lava Shells Massage from the Philippines.
For 100s of years, the Philippino people have harvested tiger clam shells from the beach in order to provide an authentic, soothing, relaxing treatment.
Now, in the UK we may not have large stretches of white sandy beaches surrounding us, like there are in Philippines, but we have adapted this treatment to bring Lava Shell Massage to our world of health and beauty, and now, to YOU Massage, Bedford Place, Southampton by therapist William.
My name is William and I am happy to introduce myself as a new associate massage therapist at the You Massage & Therapy Centre, Southampton. This article is here to welcome you to my world of therapy and how i can help you!
My interest in sport from a young age has led me to train as a Chiropractor and a massage therapist. I have learned a lot of about avoiding injuries and self-treatment methods from playing rugby for years and competing in Powerlifting.
Hello, it gives me great pleasure to meet you and to be working alongside the other wonderful therapists at YOU Massage.
I graduated from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in 2010 and have been in practice since then. During this time I have met and helped 100’s of amazing people. Most of whom generally come to me when they are in some form of pain, have serious illness, or just don’t feel healthy and themselves.
In my experience I have found Acupuncture and Chinese medicine are effective methods for helping people with their health issues. I use two main methods of treatment; Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Elements (Constitutional) Acupuncture. Alongside this, I also employ additional tools such as tuina massage, cupping, moxabustion, guasha (skin scraping) etc. These all support and enhance the treatments. However, most importantly, I work closely with all patients to improve their overall health and wellbeing. Offering lifestyle advice and coaching such as exercise, dietary support, motivation, problem solving or relationships, are often considered an essential part of the treatment and will help you to achieve the best results and in becoming your best self.
My interest in massage and learning of new techniques lead me on to Japan, where I’ve stayed for 6 years. That time I had the chance to study about zen as a philosophy, as a lifestyle, as a massage therapist also I learnt a lot about Reiki healing and Japanese culture and language.
