When Sports Massage is not advised

Do not proceed with Sports Massage if you have:
Heart Disease; Rheumatoid Arthritis (Osteoarthritis is OK); Inflammatory Spinal Conditions such as Spondylitis; Severe Respiratory Disorders; Cerebral Palsy; Diabetes; Epilepsy; Very High Blood Pressure; Recent Injury such as Whiplash or tear; or if you are Pregnant.
We will normally offer a much gentler form of Massage Therapy as an alternative for you, there are some conditions where even gentle massage may not be suitable, click here to read about more serious contra-indications.

If this is your first visit to the YOU Massage studio, you will be guided through a new client consultation, so we have your health and well-being history for therapist reference. You will be asked about areas of pain and discomfort and the history of such, this will assure the therapist is working to your needs.
During a Senior Sports / Remedial Massage, your muscles will be assessed for balance and strenght, before and after expert techniques are applied, tailored for your needs; such as MFR, PNF, mobilisations, acupuncture, and other as required (you are in great hands), your therapists will use a combination of their extensively learned skills to target your problems expertly.
Expect to come away with a little 'homework', such as adaptations to your posture and exercises, and please expect at least a few sessions with your therapist to combat your problems, your therapist will be able to advise on a treatment plan.
No two sports massages (or, indeed, sports massage therapists) are the same, and we encourage you to try different therapists during your relationship with us to find your ideal partner to fight your recurring problems, a great relationship with a Sports Masage therapist who knows your body will go far.
