About your YOUNITY Yoga and Pilates teachers...

emilie yoga

Your teacher, Émilie, is the YOUNITY Centre Manager, she is also a Massage therapist, Health coach, Gym instructor, and passionate Yoga teacher.

Émilie started to develop a strong daily yoga practise years ago, and noticed how much her daily self-practice, bundles with the weekly class she was attending, worked miracles on her tights legs and back pain, and how healthy were the older students who had been practising for many years. She has always loved all types of physical exercise, and been interested in keeping her physical and mental health balanced through a healthy lifestyle. The benefits she felt from the meditation, the breathwork and the yoga poses convinced her that Yoga is a truly amazing practice, that should accessible to everyone.

Émilie is a Yoga teacher certified by Yoga Alliance. She is curious about learning more and more styles of yoga or bodyweight exercises, as well as mindfulness practices, that can help herself and others feeling more balanced in their life, and can be combined together to deliver the most beneficial classes. She is also part of the Southampton Yoga Association.

Flo Yoga profile 1

Specialising in trauma-informed somatic yin and restorative yoga, Flo is devoted to holding a physically, psychologically, and spiritually safe space to facilitate students on their journeys to self-regulation and healing.

Flo started practising yoga regularly as a teenager and developed her practice while studying BSc Biomedical Sciences. In 2022, she embarked on an intensive Hatha yoga course in southern India, in which she advanced her asana practice and appreciation for pranayama (breathwork), Vedic philosophy and the ancient healing system of Ayurveda. Later, during Flo’s formal 200 h training as a yoga teacher in 2024, she fell in love with yin yoga. Yin was unlike any other yoga practice she had encountered and she found it deeply therapeutic. In 2025, she completed 50 h CPD trauma-informed somatic yin yoga training, alongside her studies in MSc Women’s Health at UCL. A passionate advocate for holistic health and wellbeing, Flo’s yoga teaching incorporates her hands-on learning of Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine with her academic background in women’s health and biomedicine.

Restorative yoga workshop

Join us for this restorative 90-min workshop to rest and reset for the month ahead. To begin our practice, we flow through soft and intentional movement, assisted by supportive props (bolsters, straps, and blocks) and modifications, to release tension from the legs, back, shoulders, and neck. Paired with grounding somatic and breathwork exercises, we prepare the body and mind for deep rest. Flo will then guide a 30-min yoga nidra practice to allow body and mind to enter a state of deep relaxation. Yoga nidra, also known as yogic sleep, is a powerful type of mediation that induces a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. 30 mins of yoga nidra has been found to be as restorative as up to 4 hours of deep sleep. Nourish body, mind, and spirit with these monthly workshops, which are open to everyone—no matter your ability or anatomy.

Somatic yin yoga class

Blending restorative poses, somatic exercises, and meditation, this class is ideal if you are looking to explore a therapeutic and spiritual yoga practice. Each pose is held for several minutes to target the myofascial system—improving joint and ligament health and increasing flexibility over time. Paired with breathwork and somatic exercises, regular practice brings the nervous system back into balance to facilitate the release of deep-rooted tension and stress. Each class offers a space for self-exploration and connection, drawing on the healing powers of meditation, visualisation, poetry, and yoga nidra. With the assistance of supportive props and modifications, somatic yin yoga is open to everyone—no matter your ability or anatomy. Come home to yourself on a Sunday evening as we collectively rest, process, and restore.
