Introducing Sally: Massage Therapist, Yoga Teacher and trainee Physiotherapist

Hello my name is Sally and I have just started working at the You Massage & Therapy Centre, Southampton. I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself and my journey as well as giving you an insight into what I can offer here.

I have worked in the healthcare industry since 2005 and have always had a passion for maintenance of health from a holistic perspective. I qualified as an Occupational Therapist (BSc Hons) in 2010 and have since worked with a huge variety of patients in the NHS and private rehabilitation settings, predominantly with clients with neurological conditions.

Away from healthcare my passion for fitness and holistic health led me to gain qualifications as a level 2 exercise instructor (2010) and to complete two Yoga teaching qualifications; one in India in 2011 (Yoga Alliance accredited), followed by a further 200-hour British Wheel of Yoga accredited teacher training completed in 2014….

I subsequently taught yoga within the fitness industry and with patients undergoing cancer treatment through the Macmillan ‘living well with cancer’ course.  My love of working with the human body led me to embark on a master’s level physiotherapy training course through Southampton university and I am due to qualify as a physiotherapist early in 2019. During this training I qualified as a level 3 sports massage therapist and am currently building my skills in this area.

Outside of work I am a keen swimmer, gym goer with a strong personal yoga practice and interest in meditation.

I am able to offer sports, deep tissue and holistic massage therapy depending on individual needs. These therapies aim to help reduce tension in the body’s soft tissues, improve circulation and relieve discomfort from tight muscles, whether this be due to injury or the stresses and strains of daily life.

Where required I am able to provide advice on rehabilitative or preventative stretching, yoga and exercise techniques to compliment your treatment at YOU Massage and to help you regain structural balance.

I am offering £10 off treatments with me until the end of December 2018
