Restorative Yoga workshops with Flo

Flo Yoga profile 1
In a Sunday evening yin yoga class, we’ll arrive in the space with some somatic grounding involving self-massage and acupressure. We’ll then move into a sequence of yin poses for around 40 mins—melting heart, twisted deer, and reclined butterfly to name a few! After we’ve opened up the body’s diaphragmatic space, we’ll practise some breathwork (pranayama), such as alternate nostril breathing or double breath, and finish with 10 mins of deep rest (savasana).
 
Blending restorative poses, somatic exercises, and meditation, this weekly class is ideal if you are looking to explore a therapeutic and spiritual yoga practice. Each pose is held for several minutes to target the myofascial system—improving joint and ligament health and increasing flexibility over time. Paired with breathwork and somatic exercises, regular practice brings the nervous system back into balance to facilitate the release of deep-rooted tension and build emotional resilience. Each class offers a space for interoception and introspection, drawing on the healing powers of meditation, visualisation, poetry, and yoga nidra. With the assistance of supportive props and modifications, somatic yin yoga is open to everyone—no matter your level of experience, ability, or anatomy.

Tension and Trauma release workshop with Nathalie

Tension release workshop Younity

Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercise or TRE® is a body based tool developed by Dr David Berceli to engage a natural reflex to release stress, through shaking.

TRE® is a set of 7 exercises that increase tension in some muscles and stretch out other muscles, primarily in the legs, to induce a natural shaking or tremor mechanism that we all have that releases deep seated patterns of trauma, tension and stress in the body.

As a TRE® Provider I can guide you through the process and help you to learn to shake safely alone so you can use this valuable tool to help maintain your wellbeing long into the future.

This is a somatic therapy and doesn’t require you to speak about anything but can give profound results.
